In 1920, Hjalmar Blomkvist opened a store in Linköping offering kitchenware, glassware, and porcelain. The company's name comes from Swedish and can be translated into Polish as "to set the table." Blomkvist's business grew rapidly and began generating high profits. In 1962, DUKA was sold and, after merging with sixteen other glassware and porcelain stores, created a chain. Within a short time, the DUKA chain gained customer recognition and established a brand associated with high-quality products.
